The ambulance service is contactable by phoning 999 or 112. (the 112 number applies throughout the eu).
Voluntary and private ambulance services are normally listed in the public telephone directory.
The number used for emergency calls across Europe -112 - has now been introduced in Ireland and replaces the traditional call number for emergency services in Ireland - 999. Dialling either number will get you through to the emergency services in Ireland.
In an emergency situation, always dial 999 or 112.
In less urgent situations, contact your local Garda station.
